Internship Opportunities

There are opportunities for unpaid internships at the Rutherford County Health Department to students currently in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited institution of higher learning.

Purpose:  Enable students to obtain applied learning experience which will complement and extend the traditional educational process.  The experience should also aid the student in the exploration of potential career opportunities and assist the student in identifying her/his personal and educational goals.

Obligations of the Student:  Submit the application form completely and attach copies of all of the requested documentation to be eligible for the interview process.  This application form must be typed or legibly filled out in ink.  Once the application period closes for a specific internship, The Rutherford County Health Department selection team will review all application materials and refer applicants to the internship preceptor.  That preceptor will review the referred applicants and select qualified individuals for interview.  Rutherford County Health Department will contact those individuals selected to arrange interviews. Once interviews are complete, Rutherford County Health Department will notify the finalist(s) of their selection.  This is an unpaid internship.
